PERSOALAN PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI SEKOLAH

According to the research that was done by the writer (1995, 1997, 1999, 2002) showed that most of mathematics teacher still use the traditional mathematics learning that teach by method: explaining, give example, ask equation and give the assignment classically. By using that method, mathematics teacher has difficulties in: 1) serve any needs student in learning mathematics. 2) encourage the student that have a low achievement for increasing the study achievement. 3) encourage student studying actively 4) use and develop mathematics visual aids. 5) encourage student study together.

According to research, the researcher gets opportunity to develop learning method to solve the problem above. Develop the learning method based on the recommendation Cockcroft Report (1982, page 198) state that in every learning mathematics level is place for teacher to actualize one or some methods dynamically and flexible: (1) Exposition Method, (2) Discussion Method, (3) Exercising method, (4) Finding Method, (5) Problem Solving Method, (6) Using visual aids. Develop mathematics learning model through the research to solve the problem teacher serving to the student gives positive effects. But in the action get the problem in technical, academic and social. The effort in fill any students demand academic can be done by:
1.      Developing Worksheet
2.      Forming Group Work
3.      Developing Group Discussion Method
4.      Developing Visual Aids and Education Media

In effort developing learning method can be conclude that: teacher still in filling any problem in student academic, Didn’t develop the scheme to encourage the student that have a low achievement for increasing the study achievement, The teacher have tried developing discussion method, problem solving, practicing and giving the assignment, but still face the problem in developing the scheme. Generally, teacher have tried develop learning method based on the purpose of the research, but teacher fill the problem technically, academic and fundamental. The technical teacher problem in developing learning method is an available device or learning facilities needed. Academics teacher problem in developing learning method is not allow teacher perception about learning mathematics method by learning models based on theory.
