What is the essence of Lesson Study? Lesson Study is the scheme of collaboration between teacher with teacher or teacher with lecturer as an effort to improve their ability to organize learning activity by researching/observation, reviewing, and reflect systematically. The purpose of Lesson Study was to improve teacher service to the student learning requirement.
Step by step of Lesson Study:
1. Prepare the RPP
2. implementation of the PBM and observation
3. Reflecting and Improvement I by discussions
4. Reflecting and Improvement II by implementing PBM and observation
Lesson Study and Education Innovation involves Student Centered, Constructivist Approach, Realistic Approach, and Contextual Teaching Learning with requirement:
1. Teachers are open mind and committed
2. Developed support infra-system
3. Motion of all components
4. Enlisting the support of the Policy Maker
5. medium and long-term innovation (not short term)Various kinds of Lesson Study viewing from its scope: Individual Teacher Inter-Scale, Schools Inter-Scale, Institution Inter- Scale, National scale, International scale. Lesson Study also support for KTSP because it hosted by competence that archieved by student; needs assessment and Curriculum development, syllabus and lesson plans; encourage the development of tools and instructional media; and require the development of Student Work. Lesson Study is not a Method of Teaching, but the Scheme / Framework Collaboration Research and Classroom Learning can also be one or more PTK (Classroom Action Research). Moreover, Lesson Study needs the theme.
Implementation Of Lesson Study begins with the PLANS that include: Program Coordination Meeting; Meeting Program Implementation; Meetings / discussions to prepare: Standard Competence, Basic competencies, lesson plans, worksheets, Viewer Tool, Teacher / School Model, Schedule for Implementation of PBM by Master Model and Observation Activities and Reflection (at MGMP). Then DO that include implementation of KBM by Master Model and Observation activities by the other teachers at the School Model. And the last is SEE that include: Activities Reflection: Led by Chairman MGMP or by the Principal or by the Master Senior appointed. That’s the Lesson Study. If we could apply the lesson study, expected to rise Office Administration Teacher Professionalism.
